  • Sadly, u may know someone who had 2 lose their home do 2 the economy. But there is still hope after short sale & even foreclosure. They both have down sides, but YOU as an owner should decide which 1 u are willing 2 endure. Foreclosure keeps u from buying for 4 yrs, but short sales keep u from buying for 3 yrs & u may still own the bank a deficit.   • Hi FB! Our area is not doing too badly compared to the rest of the nation's avgs. The number of single family homes is only up 5%, but the avg sales price is up 12%. (This doesn't include manufactured, town homes, or condos.) Rising prices are a good sign for our local economy. Next month, I will compare the first 6 months of 2011 with the last 6 months of 2010.   • Jobs are being created & homes are more affordable. So why are existing home sales still down? Well, tight credit requirements & low appraisals have a lot to do with it. Although some banks are lending to lower credit score holders, most are still requiring scores in the high 600's or better.
